Join this intensive, hands-on Introduction to Garden Design Workshop and gain a clear, structured understanding of how garden design is developed. This one-day workshop offers a focused exploration of the key principles behind creating beautiful, functional outdoor spaces, combining design thinking with practical application.
Perfect as a taster for complete beginners, as well as gardeners and horticulturalists looking to expand their skill set, this session is also suited to those who want a deeper understanding of how planting, layout, and structure come together in designed landscapes. Not echnical knowledge is required—just curiosity and an interest in learning how gardens are put together at a design level.

• Friday 24th July, 10:00–16:00
This is a one-day workshop, delivered on two separate dates to offer flexibility.
What to expect:
• A full-day workshop (10:00–16:00)
• A mix of engaging lectures, practical activities, and guided tutorials
• Time to pause and recharge with a tea break and lunch
•All core materials provided
• You’re encouraged to bring a sketchbook, inspiration (such as magazines or mood boards), and any personal drawing equipment (pens, pencils) if you wish

About your facilitator:
This workshop is run by Nora Garden Design and will be delivered by Toria Glover, a practicing garden designer who has worked within a London-based garden design studio, and now lectures on the Garden and Landscape Design courses at the University Centre at the Eden project. With a background in horticulture, Toria has also worked across a range of National Trust properties in Cornwall, combining practical horticultural experience with contemporary garden design practice.
This workshop is relaxed, welcoming, and designed to give you a taste of what’s possible. You’ll enjoy learning in a beautiful venue, making it as much a rewarding experience as it is an educational one.
Spaces are limited to 10 places (per day) to keep sessions personal and interactive.

Ticket information:
• Two ticket options are available for each date: with lunch or without lunch
• Lunch can be provided by the on-site Market Hall café (pre-order required)
• Menus will be emailed to you after booking so you can select your preference
• Alternatively, you’re welcome to bring your own lunch and make use of the on-site communal kitchen
• Tea and coffee are included in all ticket types and available throughout the day
