Designing and delivering change that matters.
We believe innovation is the key to creating real-world impact. Our work is very interdisciplinary, providing us with a unique position to embrace interesting collaborations and to try new things.
Based in the heart of the Devonport Creative Quarter, our spaces feature state-of-the-art facilities connected to immersive technologies - particularly projection mapping, fulldomes and spatial audio - and heritage crafts - primarily focusing on our specialism in printmaking.
Innovation meets impact.
Cutting-edge R&D that makes a real-world difference.
Research Partnerships
Our strategic partnerships with the University of Plymouth and the Arts University Plymouth are vital to provide a bridge between research institutions and sector-leading organisations. These connections are pivotal for academics, local communities, and to encourage graduate retention within the city.
In 2024, we launched a joint MA in Immersive Media with Arts University Plymouth, with an embedded curriculum based both at the university, and at the Market Hall in Devonport.
Real Ideas are a core part of the Far South West Immersive Cluster – a region-wide movement showcasing the use and applications of transformative immersive technologies for social impact. Featuring academic partners from three renowned universities based in the South West - Plymouth, Falmouth and Exeter.

Sensory Uses of Fulldome
Our mission has always been to provide real-world impact through innovation. Our work in the fulldome sector is no different. Fulldomes derive from planetarium technology, which in turn means there is an absolute plethora of content related to science, and to space exploration.
Our vision for this technology was slightly different. We saw immediate potential for these forms of shared, immersive experiences to create new possibilities for audiences that are not typically involved in their creation.
We are pioneering the use of fulldome technology for sensory and wellbeing applications. Our work in this space is consistently developing, and we believe that we have so far only scratched the surface of what this technology is able to do.
Soon after welcoming schools and groups into the dome in 2021, we noticed something important. There was an entire population of people who were not considered in the design of the existing fulldome experiences – each one, whilst visually stunning, was too overstimulating and overwhelming. Therefore, we decided to embark on a journey of discovery to see what content could be created to overcome this obstacle.
However, we didn’t want to repeat the same mistakes. We wanted to develop a process of co-design and co-production, to engage the exact audiences that we were creating content for. So, we did it.

Sharing our experience.
