Introduction
Exminster Parish is set to double in size due to the addition of the new Matford housing development of circa. 2,000 homes. The Parish Council needed to understand the priorities of new residents and support community cohesion, to inform long-term planning, and creating a parish that works for all.
Our role
We designed and delivered a six-month programme of community engagement and research.
What we delivered
- Local area analysis and exploration of community development models
- Doorstep and online surveys, plus a community event
- Final report outlining resident priorities, challenges, and opportunities
Impact
We gathered feedback from 95 residents and created a list of 60 residents keen to stay informed. The resulting plan has informed a further 18-month programme of community development and council capacity building.
