In My Shoes: An Exhibition of Art

17 June 2026
10:00

By Becoming Arethusa CIC. Created form experiences of domestic abuse and systemic retraumatisation.

More Info:

In My Shoes is a powerful exhibition of artwork created by survivors of domestic abuse, many of whom have experience of the family court system. At its heart is a collection of deeply personal pieces developed through focused group art therapy sessions, presented alongside work by professional artists with lived experience.

Using a wide range of materials — including drawing, painting, collage and sculpture — the exhibition explores themes through abstraction, visual metaphor and figurative imagery, offering insight into the lived realities of being “in my shoes.”

Throughout the exhibition, free public workshops invite visitors to respond creatively to the work. Led by art therapist Biddy and survivor artist Red, founders of Becoming Arethusa, these sessions encourage participants to explore their own thoughts and feelings through experimental art-making.

Workshops are free to attend, and do not require any booking.

Dates and times:

  • Friday 19th June, 1pm - 3pm
  • Saturday 20th June, 1pm - 3pm
