Lino Print Social
Develop your own lino printmaking practice in a relaxed, friendly studio environment. These informal sessions are designed for people who want dedicated time to work on their own projects, share ideas, and connect with other printmakers. A tutor will be on hand to offer guidance, answer questions, and help troubleshoot techniques when needed, but the sessions are not structured workshops or step-by-step classes.
Suitable for those with some basic lino printing experience, as well as more experienced printmakers looking for a supportive space to create, experiment, and learn from others.
What's included?
- Guidance and technical support from tutor Jess Van Baalen
- Use of the print presses at Devonport Guildhall Studios
- Free use of inks and lino tools
- Tea and coffee
- Other materials can be brought from home or purchased during the session
Sessions take place on the first Sunday of each month, 10am–12pm.
Bring along works in progress, sketches, ideas for future prints, or finished pieces you'd like to share. Whether you're carving, printing, planning your next design, or simply looking for creative company, these sessions offer a welcoming space to develop your practice alongside fellow printmakers.
About the Tutor
Jess Van Baalen is an artist and printmaker inspired by nature, folklore, and storytelling. Since graduating from Brighton University in 2022 with a degree in Illustration, she has focused on combining the natural world with narrative and myth. Drawn to the tactile process of lino printing, she creates bold, textured work that celebrates landscape, cultural stories, and everyday magic.

Please note: These sessions are not aimed at complete beginners. If you're entirely new to lino printing, we recommend attending one of our introductory or taster lino workshops before joining the social sessions.

Can I get a refund on an event I have booked?
You can request a refund up to 24 hours before the event. You will need to do this via the Eventbrite website.
