Inspired by the magical worlds found in books like How to Train Your Dragon and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, this workshop invites young creators to dream big, draw boldly, and build worlds of their own.
What will the kids do?
Invent a Mythical Creature
Children will imagine and design unique beasts using prompts and inspiration from well‑loved fantasy stories. From fearsome dragons to quirky pocket‑sized critters — the sky’s the limit!
World‑Building & Creature Facts
They’ll explore their creature’s home, abilities, strengths, weaknesses, habits and more, turning their ideas into a fun guide that feels straight out of a fantasy field manual.
Drawing & Collage Techniques
Using a mix of drawing materials and funky patterned papers, kids will create a dynamic visual style for their zine. Mia supports them with gentle 1‑to‑1 guidance as they experiment with textures and shapes.
Create a Mini Zine
All the creature’s designs and details come together in a personalised folded zine — a pocket-sized book they can take home and proudly share.
