Skills Future

Skills Future has been created to ensure that young people are supported to develop the independence and resilience required to be able to move into adulthood with the skills and attributes required to succeed within either education, training or employment.

What is Skills Future?

Skills Future is a free programme for young people in Cornwall who want to build confidence, develop skills, and plan for the future. Led by Cornwall Council, it’s designed to help you succeed in education, training, or employment.

How Does It Work?

The programme starts by helping you identify your goals—whether that’s improving your grades, finding the right training course, or preparing for work. From there, we create a personalised plan to guide you forward. You’ll learn practical skills, boost your confidence, and get support every step of the way.

Who Will Support You?

Skills Future is delivered by five expert organisations:

  • Real Ideas – Creative thinking and career pathways
  • Carefree – Support for care-experienced young people
  • Pentreath – Mental health and wellbeing guidance
  • Argyle Community Trust – Sports-based engagement and teamwork
  • Seetec Pluss – Employment and training advice

You might work with one organisation or several, depending on what you need most.

Why Join Skills Future?

This programme is all about you—your goals, your future. With tailored support, practical skills, and access to specialist advice, Skills Future helps you take control and move forward with confidence.
