Introduction
Fountain Head House School in Saltash is an independent SEN day school for young people aged 4–16 with special needs. Three years ago, we partnered with the school to create a 360° filmmaking project for Autism Appreciation Week. Its success has seen it become a core part of the summer term curriculum.
Our Role
We worked closely with the school to design and deliver a creative, inclusive project that gave pupils the chance to explore immersive technology and storytelling. Our goal was to provide an experience that celebrated individuality and creativity while building confidence and technical skills.
What we delivered
Impact
The project:
- Created a sense of pride and achievement for pupils and families.
- Developed technical and creative skills among students and staff.
- Strengthened the school’s curriculum with innovative, inclusive learning experiences.
Testimonials
“Last year my school, Fountain Head House, had the pleasure of working with Gary at the Market Hall Dome in Plymouth to work on a project for Autism Appreciation Week. Children of all ages with SEND got to visit a world-class space for immersive technology situated in the heart of Devonport, Plymouth. The children experienced a screening of our own FHHS film. Children from across the school have been busy over the last 6 weeks directing their own film to be shown to the whole school and many of our parents and carers who had the privilege of seeing the premier of this production. We now have a team of experts in the school who will be training other children in using this technology throughout the next year, so we are able to produce more films to screen in this great venue. We thought the experience was so good that this has now been incorporated into our whole school curriculum plan for the summer term.”
