Sea For Yourself: And Breathe by Megan Roberts

Artist Megan Roberts invites audiences to pause, reflect and reconnect with the sea in a free film experience.

Description:

Artist Megan Roberts invites audiences to pause, reflect and reconnect with the sea in a free film experience.

Join us for short-film, And Breathe, a new immersive 360° film by artist Megan Roberts, developed through an artistic residency within the Sea for Yourself programme.

And Breathe explores the mindfulness and wellbeing benefits of spending time by the ocean. During her residency, Megan worked closely with local community participants through a series of workshops that invited people to slow down, reflect, and connect with the sea. Participants were encouraged to share personal stories, create images and sound, and contribute creatively to the development of the work.

These collective experiences have been brought together into a 15-minute immersive 360° film, presented in the Immersive Dome at Market Hall, Devonport. The film offers audiences a calm, sensory experience shaped by the voices and creativity of the community who helped make it.

Please note: The film will be shown continuously throughout scheduled times (approximately 15 minutes running time). Audiences are welcome to arrive at any time during the booking slot, but viewing from the start is recommended.

Megan Roberts' residency is part of Sea for Yourself, a programme led by Plymouth Culture in partnership with Plymouth City Council and Plymouth Sound National Marine Park. The programme development and delivery is supported by key partners including The Box, Real Ideas, Arts University Plymouth, University of Plymouth and Theatre Royal Plymouth. Sea for Yourself is funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and Arts Council England Place Partnership Fund.
