Wild Scribe Journaling Workshop

Working in any little A6 notebook or journal insert that you should choose to bring along, this workshop focuses on setting up and decorating a personal Christmas Holiday Memory Journal.

A perfect morning of quality time for those that love the festivities and would like to find a way to celebrate the highlights and capture all those precious christmassy memories.

Come alone and find some moments of calm amongst all the chaos; or why not bring a friend, loved one or an older teen along with you and share some precious bonding time. If you have a young family at home, then there will little pieces of art paper you can leave aside to take home to invite them to make their own painted/artsy contribution to your journal.

Bring along your favourite festive photos, favourite cards received, kids drawings & papery mementos, either from past years or this current one or both! Bring a little snippet of this year's Christmas wrappings and one of the cards you'll be posting out to friends. Bring your lists of everything! For everything that's too large (or precious) to fit into an A6 journal, bring photocopies to cut up or else reduce them in size on the photocopier. If you don't have a photocopier at home, then why not pop into the Library in advance of the workshop day, and take copies at 20p per A4 sheet.

We'll primarily be using your own personal ephemera to decorate your journal this time, although there will be plenty of loose papers and stationery available for you to use and incorporate into your pages.

We'll be adding little envelopes for holding letters to Santa, the Naughty List and the Wish List.

We'll be detailing everything that we're looking forward to and recording how we like to celebrate and what traditions we have. We will leave spaces for photos and notes of the festivities.

If you'd like to include the New Year, we can also include some pages for some New Years Resolutions and share some words on our hopes and dreams for the year of 2026.

If you're a Christmas humbug, then you are still very welcome to join in... why not focus your pages on everything wonderful that the Winter Season brings... sparkly lights, open fires, a gathering of family, snow-filled landscapes, snowmen, icy cobwebs, candlelight, winter activities like ice skating, sleds, skiing; the list is endless...

Suzanna will be bringing her calligraphy box along, so if you'd like a couple of names/words written in calligraphy to add to your journal, then you only have to ask!

If you don't have a suitable notebook, you are welcome to purchase a Wild Scribe mini accordion journal insert from Suzanna on the day for an additional cash payment of £5. This particular journal will fold up small to store away and then will open out wide and sit happily on a shelf when required, enabling you to better enjoy the pages during this festive season and beyond.

At the end of the session you will take away your precious little decorated journal, prepped and ready to add your future findings, memories and ephemera at home.
