Cross Step

Cross Step is an exciting four week surf programme for 16-25 year olds not in education, employment or training.

Create Your Future has teamed up with Newquay-based, surf resources website Groundswell to create Cross Step a brand new entry to employment programme designed to inspire and educate wave hungry young people to gain real qualifications and confidence which can translate into a long term career.

A four week training programme for young people aged 16-25 and not in education or employment, Cross Step is led by two professional BSA level 3 surf coaches and who train the ‘Cross Steppers’ in surf instruction and lifeguarding.

Through practical and theory sessions, one on one training and plenty of water time, The ‘Cross Steppers’  graduate with a NARS Beach Lifeguard Award and a British Surfing Association (BSA) Award, as well as work experience and further surf coach training.

On top of that, the recruits have the chance to grow marketing and presentation skills, develop their CVs and build industry contacts; fully equipping them to forge bright futures in the world of water sports.
