Strategic Contracts

Arts Council England
In 2012 RIO was appointed as Arts Council Bridge Organisation for the south west of England in a strategic role to connect young people with great arts and culture.To find out more about RIO's Bridge work click here

Creative and Cultural Skills
RIO delivers the Creative Skills Initiative, which is funded by Arts Council England and Creative & Cultural Skills. The Creative Skills Initiative makes up one strand of The Creative Employability Programme, which will enhance the connection between education and the workplace, giving young people opportunities to engage in the arts, develop employability skills and gain nationally recognised qualifications.

Big Lottery Fund
RIO is lead partners for the Big Lottery funded Talent Match programme in Cornwall, supporting young people with complex multiple needs get into employment, education or training.

Cornwall Council
RIO is working with Cornwall Council to support its staff to be more socially enterprising. Through a package of training and mentoring we are supporting more than 200 Council staff to develop and deliver social enterprise solutions to protect crucial Council services in the face of budget cuts. FYSE (NGO)
SEQ is working with FYSE (NGO) to support the growth of SEQ in China.

Natural England and Plymouth University
RIO is delivering Natural England’s Natural Connections Programme in Plymouth and Torbay, in partnership with Plymouth University, in a programme of work to give more young people access to outdoor education.

Sparkwell Free School
Rio was a key partner in the creation and design of Sparkwell All Saints Primary School which opened in September 2013.

Collaborations and Partnerships

SFEDI Awards:
RIO developed the SEQ by partnering with SFEDI awards. The partnership has so far resulted in 3 qualifications in the SEQ progression ladder for worldwide use.

Creative and Cultural Skills (CCSkills):
Through a partnership with CCSkills, Gold SEQ is now an approved option for a knowledge based qualification in the Level 2 Community Arts Administration Apprenticeship.

Robinswood Multi-Academy Trust
RIO sits on the Trust Board, works with all schools in the Multi-Academy Trust and was engaged in the pre-opening phase of the Waterwells Primary Academy.

Victoria Park Primary Academy
One of our Lead Primary Consultants is seconded to Victoria Park Primary Academy – a school that has been transfomed in the last 5 years and in 2013 was nominated for TES school of the year.

Aston Villa Football Club
RIO is working with Aston Villa Football Club using the SEQ to accredit a programme running in 3 schools in Birmingham. The programme teaches young people about the business of running a football club, and supports them to make positive social change in their communities.

Heritage Lottery Fund
RIO used a Heritage Lottery Fund grant to restore Devonport Column, bringing it back into meaningful use as part of our wider regeneration of the Devonport area of Plymouth.
